Was toying with 6.10.17 on Lucid Lynx and low and behold what did I find on var/lib/boinc-client... It should only be there because that's what your web site prefs say. ********************** For ref: On the web site: Alter prefs Click Update preferences button at the bottom of the yesterday I heard on radio about the FoldIt project. But I caught it when 85% of task was already done.

Sigmund Freud said... "Failure to CRUNCH is a sign of Sexual Inadequacies". I am not a Windows expert though. We have certainly not changed SixTrack for a couple of years now (although we have changes coming), I suspect this is a "feature" of Windows 7 (BOINC?). It's built in for completely new people, people who were complaining that despite BOINC's applications running on the lowest possible priority, it taking up CPU cycles that would slow down their

It just haven't caused any issues when I had the non-Boinc activity setting at 0. Isn't 50% more than 25%? This should fix the problem. ____________ ID: 41109 · Reply Quote [AF>france>pas-de-calais]symaski62Sendmessage Joined: 13 Aug 05Posts: 54Credit: 117,227RAC: 0 Message 41114 - Posted: 20 Nov 2010, 22:56:59 UTC 3 CPU => While looking at Tthrottle temperature graph and the contents of the stdoutdae.txt for the past 24 hours I see a few incidents when Boinc has stopped and restarted crunching several times

Does the same thing as the option, but is deprecated on the newer versions.Jord Ha ha ha ha ha! The error message is hanging, so I cannot cut and paste it. But I need this setting as a safeguard against SETI new SoG application crashing the GPU driver, so I don't want to set this limit to 0% which means no limit I imagine as the tasks startup there is a spike and it goes away.ID: 27792 · Reply Quote Harri LiljeroosSendmessage Joined: 28 Sep 04Posts: 78Credit: 5,118,118RAC: 3,696 Message 27793 - Posted: set it now to "0". so all of my computers are only running at 25% (the default setting).

I also used Core Temp to check temperature, and noticed that the actual processor frequency was cycling, which seems odd.

Annoying, isn\'t it? And I want limitate the Disk space use to 5 GB (during the 1st test run). How do I get the software to use 100% of the available CPU? To change your preferences for all computers under your member name, sign on to our website and go to your “Settings” page.

The developer's standpoint on this (and I must say I follow them in that) is that the normal user doesn't need to fiddle around with mythical entries in a cc_config.xml file.

Used to check whether BOINC can ping another site than Google (the default check) when using a proxy. In most cases, it will be the 'Default' profile. Above normal at least. This feature isn't for everyone who has been using BOINC for ages and are running it 24/7 without looking at it much.

It's built in for completely new people, people who were complaining that despite BOINC's applications running on the lowest possible priority, it taking up CPU cycles that would slow down their This is normal, as is the non-cycling frequency result at 90%, for the default power settings in Win 7. In this case, the IBM server is used.

imho to do such is simply a bug. Isn't 50% more than 25%? However I had it on all night with no other active processes, and in the morning the Elapsed Time was the same as it had been the previous evening. With "normal user" is meant those who don't know what half the stuff on their PC does, who don't need to know this. In order to allow those applications to run as fast as possible, the World Community Grid software is suspending the research until your device is once again idle. I can run a powerful mashine with enough RAM AND CPU capacities, nearby always 24 hours with a 12000 DSL flatrate.
